Craft Down Under: the modded network where the players pick the packs

Oceania's largest modded network runs All the Mods 10, Better MC and its own packs, on servers in Australia, the US and Europe, and lets the community vote on what comes next.

Modded Minecraft has a geography problem. The big packs are heavy, the servers are mostly in North America and Europe, and a player in Sydney gets 200 milliseconds of lag on top of everything else. Craft Down Under started as the fix for that and grew into "Oceania's largest modded Minecraft network," with servers now in Australia, the United States and Europe and a rule that the community, not the staff, decides which packs get hosted.

Packs by vote

The site describes "a community built around modded Minecraft" where players "suggest and vote" on modpacks through a custom-built platform. The result is a rotating line-up that follows what people actually want to play: All the Mods 10 (our pinger found the US ATM10 server on version 8.2 with over a hundred players), Better MC, and packs built specifically for the PlayCDU community, including a large 1.18.2 pack "focusing on magic, combat and exploration."

All the Mods 10

The kitchen-sink pack of the moment, on its own server with a full player count.

Better MC

Vanilla-plus, for players who want mods that feel like the base game.

How the network runs

Packs rotate "semi-frequently," which keeps the line-up current and means a world doesn't outlive its players. The forum and Discord are where votes happen and where rules live; the store handles donations. It is an inclusive-by-design community, "an inclusive space for anybody looking to play modded Minecraft," and it shows in how patient the regulars are with someone installing their first modpack.

Joining

Pick a pack on craftdownunder.co, install it with the CurseForge or Modrinth launcher, and connect to the region nearest you (the ATM10 US address is atm10.playcdu.co). Our guide on joining a modded Minecraft server covers the launchers; the RAM guide explains why ATM10 needs eight gigabytes.
