In Lifesteal, killing another player takes one of their hearts and gives it to you. Die too often and you run out of hearts and get banned, usually until the next season or until a friend crafts a revive item.
That makes every fight matter. Lifesteal servers are PvP-heavy survival worlds, typically with hearts that can be withdrawn and traded, and seasons that reset the map every few months.
If you're new, pick a server early in its season and team up; solo players lose hearts fast.

What happens when you lose all your hearts?
On most servers you're banned from that season until you're revived or a new season starts. The exact rules differ per server, so read them first.
Is Lifesteal only for PvP players?
Mostly. You can build and farm, but other players can hunt you, so expect fights.
