Minewind is the server people recommend when you say you want anarchy but not 2b2t. The rules fit in one sentence on its wiki: "anything is allowed except for cheating/hacking, duping, and IRL trading." Kill players, grief, lie. And yet it is one of the friendliest places to start, because it has quietly removed the thing that makes anarchy miserable: you never lose your inventory.
Three worlds in one server
You arrive in a tutorial area that introduces Essences, the custom currency-and-upgrade system the whole economy is built on. Then you type /chillspawn and walk into a spawn city that "has stood since 2014", in adventure mode with PvP off, where chests in the houses hold enough food to start. Next door is the PvP spawn, where the chests are better and so are the players waiting for you.
The Wilderness is where you live. It's a vanilla world with everything allowed, split into eight sub-servers, each with its own history, map art and culture: Arch, Throne, Era, Azure, Sun, Moon, Terra and Aqua. /wild drops you thousands of blocks out on one of them at random. The wiki's advice is blunt: anything within a million blocks of spawn will eventually be destroyed, so use a claim clock, keep your vault far away, and set a home.
Die in PvP or lava and you keep everything. It changes how the anarchy feels: fights are constant and losing one is a shrug.
Auras, armor sets, weapons, essences, Midas keys, traders and bosses are all server-side. The wiki lists 874 articles about them.
"All items, ranks and more can be obtained by playing. Nothing is out of reach for regular players."
A vanilla feel with a thick layer on top
Minewind's trick is that it adds a lot while looking like vanilla. The custom items come with textures the server applies, the bosses are ordinary mobs with unusual behavior, and the economy runs through traders at spawn rather than a shop menu. Updates keep landing: "Paradox Midas", which the community calls the Goat Update, arrived in October 2024, and "Tempest" in January 2025, each with a changelog on the official site.
It's also busy. Our checks put it among the most active vanilla-style survival servers on the list, and the eight-world design keeps the crowd from stacking up in one place.

Survive your first day
Loot Chillspawn for food, skim the PvP spawn only if you're feeling brave, then /wild. Walk another few thousand blocks before you dig in. Grab a claim clock as soon as you can afford one, set a home, and treat every stranger as a possible thief who is also possibly your future ally.

Is Minewind pay-to-win?
The wiki says every item and rank can be earned by playing, and the store is cosmetic.
