On most survival servers, land claims are a fence. On Loka they are a front line. Towns place Territory Generators to claim ground, attack each other's generators to take it, and at the end of every month the strongest town or alliance becomes the Capital of Loka and gets to set global policies for the whole server. Then the clock resets and everyone tries to take it from them.
Conquest, not factions
Loka calls itself "the only Conquest server," and the difference from factions is the scoring. Territory is claimed by generators placed in the world; the larger your territory, the more enemy generators you're allowed to attack, and every battle you win adds to your strength. There's a live control map that redraws as territory changes hands. The wiki's own summary of the result: "Alliances, Enemies, Friends, and Mortal Enemies have been forged and destroyed through our Territory System."
The map is 100% custom sculpted: a Frozen North, a Temperate West and a Hot South, each with resources that only grow there. You can't farm everything at home, so you trade or you raid.
Two friends and a Town Generator start a town. Fifteen masteries level it up, unlocking perks and Industry buildings like a Lumber Mill, Windmill, Arcanum or Tavern.
Buy and sell for jewels and metals, and sell the heads of infamous players on the black market. The wiki says you can succeed "without ever touching a mine."
What's allowed
Loka is semi-vanilla PvP survival with custom plugins layered on top, and its rules draw a specific line: thievery and murder are allowed, griefing and mass block damage are not. So you can be robbed, ambushed and out-maneuvered, but the town you built stays standing. PvP itself has custom talent trees, potion arenas, Warcraft-style battlegrounds and a Town vs Town queue where any number of towns can fight.
A server with a story
Loka has been running since 2013, and its world has lore, quests and world events that change what's going on in the continents. The official trailer describes it as "one of the most ambitious Minecraft servers to date," which is the kind of claim you'd shrug at if the territory map didn't back it up: a decade of alliances, betrayals and monthly regime changes, all recorded by the players who lived them.

How to start well
Don't found a town on day one. Join an existing one, learn which continent grows what, and get a feel for the conquest calendar. When you do build a Town Generator with two friends, put it somewhere defensible, because in a month someone will test it.

Quick answers
What is the Loka server IP?
play.lokamc.com, on a current Java version. Premium accounts only.
Is Loka a factions server?
No. Territory is claimed with generators, wars are fought over them, and the strongest town or alliance each month becomes the Capital and sets global policy.
Can I get griefed on Loka?
Your town is protected from block damage. You can be robbed, ambushed and killed; griefing and mass destruction are against the rules.
Do I need a group to play?
Founding a town takes three players. Solo players usually join an existing town first, which is the best way to learn the map.
