The best Minecraft servers for Bedwars are the ones with enough players online to fill a match fast: on Java that usually means a big minigame network, and on Bedrock it means the featured servers built into the Servers tab, which run Bedwars-style modes. The rules in 60 seconds
While your bed stands, you respawn after dying. Once it's broken, your next death is a final death.
Your base spawns iron and gold. Spend them at the shop on blocks, weapons and armor.
Diamonds and emeralds spawn on outer and center islands. Diamonds buy team upgrades, emeralds buy the strongest items.
Islands float over the void. You build bridges with wool or other blocks to reach enemies, and anyone can knock you off.
Killing a player whose bed is gone. Last team with a living player wins.
Team sizes vary. You'll see solos, doubles, threes and fours. Shop prices and items also vary by server, so glance at the shop before your first rush.
Where to play Bedwars on Java
On Java, Bedwars lives on large minigame networks, because a mode like this needs a lot of players online at once to fill queues. The best-known is Hypixel at mc.hypixel.net, which is where most Bedwars habits (item names, upgrade names, even strategy videos) come from. Hypixel is Java-only.

We track 65 Bedwars servers online right now. Smaller ones can be great, but check the player count first. A Bedwars server with 12 people online will mostly be waiting in lobbies.
Where to play Bedwars on Bedrock
Bedrock is a little different. Xbox, PlayStation and Switch players can only open the featured servers from the Servers tab (plus Realms) without third-party workarounds, and several featured servers run their own take on Bedwars. At the time of writing (September 2026), The Hive has Treasure Wars (defend your treasure instead of a bed) and CubeCraft has EggWars (defend an egg). The rules are the same idea: protect your respawn point, break theirs. The featured lineup changes, so check the featured servers page on minecraft.wiki for the current list.
On Windows, iOS and Android, you can also add any Bedrock server: open Servers, choose Add Server, and enter the name, address and port (default 19132). Our mobile join guide walks through it.
Is there a Bedwars server for Java and Bedrock together?
Yes. Some Java Bedwars servers run GeyserMC, which lets Bedrock players join a Java server. We run a Bedrock probe every day, and a server only gets a Bedrock address on our site when that probe actually connected:

Your first game, phase by phase
- Opening (first 30 seconds). Grab iron, buy a stack of wool, and cover your bed. Even one layer of wool stops the cheapest rush.
- Early game. Upgrade to stronger blocks around the wool as gold comes in. Buy a stone sword. In team modes, one player defends while another heads for diamonds.
- Mid game. Diamonds buy team upgrades (on Hypixel-style servers: sharpened swords, reinforced armor, faster forge, traps). Emeralds buy diamond armor and top items. Contest the middle.
- Bed rush. Pick a team whose bed is lightly defended. Bridge fast, bring a pickaxe or shears to match their defense, and break it.
- Late game. Once beds are gone, every death is final. Play safe: stay away from edges, carry blocks to rebuild under you, and let other teams fight first.
Bed defense: which block beats what
Good defenses are layered: a soft inner layer against quick breaks and a hard outer layer against tools and explosives. Exact items differ per server, but this is the usual pattern:

What about TLauncher Bedwars servers?
TLauncher and similar launchers are ways to play without buying Minecraft. We don't help with that. Buy the game from minecraft.net: it gets you Java and Bedrock on PC, your own skin and access to every official server. Some servers do accept players without official accounts (called cracked or offline-mode servers), and we label them on every listing because they carry extra risks, like other people logging in under your name. How to pick a Bedwars server you'll stick with
- Real players. Check our measured count, not the number in the server's own ad. Suspicious counts get a "Player count looks unusual" flag.
- Your mode is popular. A server may have plenty of players overall and still leave solos or fours empty.
- Ping. Pick servers close to you. Try North American or European servers depending on where you live.
- Shop and upgrade list. If a server sells items that make paying players stronger in fights, that's pay-to-win and against Mojang's rules.
- Anti-cheat and reports. Look for a way to report cheaters in game or on the server's Discord.

Hypixel's address is mc.hypixel.net. For other options, every card in the Java list above shows its address. Copy it into Multiplayer, Add Server.
Can I play Bedwars on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch?
Yes, through the featured servers in the Servers tab, several of which run Bedwars-style modes. Adding other servers by address isn't possible in the normal console game.
Why does my Bedwars queue take forever?
Not enough players in that mode right now. Try a more popular team size, or pick a server with a higher measured player count.
Is Bedwars good for beginners?
Yes. Games are short, you learn from every loss, and doubles or fours let a stronger teammate carry you while you learn bridging and bed defense.
